Three quarters of a century-wow!

Today Nana Lila turned 75 years old. Lila calls her Nana the Great. We wanted my mom in this shot, but she didn't like the way she looked-that was too bad, I really wanted 4 generations of girls remembered today. We bought Nana a fan for her present. Needless to say she was blown away...pun intended!

Cute pics from a fun afternoon

Cousin Cole
Uncle Marker & Abby
Lila and Carrot Top
Sleep tight Noah

I decided this is not a blog. It's a plog. I tend to post more photos than words, right?

Four thumbs up!

Thanks to little Cole Henry for the title...you had to be there ;o). Thanks to the Miller side of the family for a delightful day. It was a glorious 90+ degrees with lots of little red faced kiddos running around. Look at the scrumptious cheesecake Uncle D. brought.

I'm blessed to be part of this wonderful family!

All work no play?

Papa needed some yard work done on the island. We were more than happy to help. Evan clearing the path...
In the end three-5 gallon buckets full.
Finding fun in all he does.
Rewarded in the end with a kiss from Mama and S'Mores. Too sweet.

Okay not all work, but how can we leave weeds?

Come on in, the water is great! Brr...

Always fun at Anderson Island! The kids had a blast in the lake.

Abby, please meet Sarah

This is Sarah-Sarah is a build a bear dog that Lila purchased at the DuPont all city yard sale last weekend. Lila went on a walk with our friend Jack and came back with her. She informed me it is for her cousin Abby. I asked her why she didn't want it. She said she already has too many stuffed animals and it is unselfish to give it to her favorite cousin. So, the excitement is swelling as each day goes by (Abby is on vacation). Lila got a box from Papa and transformed it into Sarah's doghouse. Sarah has accompanied us to church, Target, Lowe's, outside for fresh air, to Applebee's for a balloon and every other place that Lila has been. Oh yes, she has also eaten plenty of marshmallows. Tim asked if Lila is going to be able to give her up. So, in private I asked Lila if she was going to be sad to give Sarah to Abby and her reply was with the biggest duh tone- that it's Abby's and she can visit her when she misses her. So get ready Abs to adopt a puppy that has been very well taken care of the last 5 days!

Like father... kinda like son

Tim just received his grades for the 2 classes he took this semester. P.E. walking class- an A (duh) :o) Environmental science, which was a crazy amount of daily work, projects, papers, field trips, community service and even a pot luck with a dish made using sustainable ingredients with a paper written about it, to name just a few of the things that were involved. He was maintaining a solid B, but in the end a BIG FAT A! That's right tell your friends...I guess it doesn't matter what class it is, Tim rocks.
PS-His previous class, Ethno Mathematics also an A.

WHAT!!!

Where did Evan get the money to buy an ipod you're wondering? Because it's not his B-day, hmm??? Well the answer is he needed NO money. What! No money, but how could that be?
There was a contest at the orthodontist to match the celebrity with their correct mouth (which was cut out and mixed up).
With a little help from you know who, he was 1 of 30 who got it correct. His name was put in a hat and drawn. WOOHOOOOO!!! He so deserves it.

Daddy's day 2008

Lila and Grandpa Clyde (as she calls him) enjoying each others company.
Gladiator Dad-check out those sandals!
Lila sure gets tickled when she gets to spend time with extended family.
Timmy workin' off his Father's Day meals. Breakfast...Sausage, cheesy eggs, cantaloupe and Krispy Kreme. No Swedish pancakes, Mama was too tired and sore. (There were no objections.) Lunch...Moctazuma's Mexican yumminess. Look how handsome he is in his new outfit ;o)

Young Love

A picture is worth a thousand words...

Sharing chocolate sandwich cookies on the back porch today. Kyle & Lila friends forever.

Academic Excellence

Hard to see, but Evan was awarded in academic excellence this year! Hooray for our boy. We are super proud of you!

I was able to attend the awards assembly and Tim was right next door at Lila's school volunteering for field day 2008. This has been a very rewarding year for both of our kids. We were blessed with an amazing kindergarten teacher for Lila and Evan's teachers really kept him interested and involved. We were told on more than one occasion that Evan has a "wealth of knowledge" about things the average teenager isn't aware or concerned about. Sure makes you feel good as Mom and Dad!

BUZZZZZ!

This is a California Lilac. It blooms hundreds of little blue clusters that last for maybe 2 weeks. While it's in bloom it attracts every bumblebee and honeybee in the state. You can hear the buzz half way across the yard.
This was a huge , fat bumblebee that seemed to be comatose. All the other ones had their little butts working 100mph.

Even though it's blurry the little red spec is a baby lady bug. The weather was warm today and the plant was swarming. Lila was very brave and walked right up to it with me. We stood very still and let all the bees fly around us. She could teach her daddy a few things.

Snake Lake!!

Crossing the bridge--nice picture Gracie!!

Lila recently took her Dad to Snake Lake for a nice brisk walk!!
If you look real close, you can see the ants!!
Ducks!! (not wood ducks, sorry Evan!!)
Hurry up Dad!!

Bowling with Dad!!

On Memorial Day, I took Evan and his baby sister Lila bowling at Pacific Lanes here in T-town. No 300 games by anyone, but fun was had by all(Jen appreciated the peace and quiet at home)!!

Go fly a kite!

Ready, Set, Fly!

All done flying the kite and time to throw pebbles into the water. Lila's favorite picture out of all of these is the last. There is a man throwing a ball into the water and his dog was fetching it. She laughs when she tells us the story. She's so stinkin' cute!

Special men

Lila's class had a dad's day lunch. She invited Papa Clyde, Uncle Danny and of course her dad. Tim was there even though he isn't in any pictures...wait you can see his finger!

They had a wet walk to and from the library. All the kids received a cap. That worked out well for the rain drops.

Look at all the goodies.

They had a nice lunch after the kiddos sang some endearing songs about the men that mean so much to them. What a special day. How happy we are that Uncle Dan is healthy enough to enjoy times like this.

UH-OH!

So, my software for my digital camera is on the fritz and I am 4 posts behind. I can't upload any pictures and the frustration is mounting...please be patient. It's not like me to go this long between posts. It's Monday, the start of a new week... we choose what kind of day we are going to have, regardless of what falls in our paths. Me-I choose a happy day! A happy day...a happy day...

What are you gonna do today?

This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good.

Lysol, please?

We have been very busy working in the yard and our many gardens, so it comes to no surprise, that when the day is through, Lila has some form or another of dirt on her. Tonight was no exception. Lila is fanatical about washing her hands every time she enters the house-this might mean no time to take off shoes if coming in through the kitchen. So, here's where the funny (not really) part comes in. "Lila! There are muddy footprints all over the floor." "That's okay Mama, you can mop it...you love to mop."
If only it were true...
